WellBeing Alpaca Walks

These monthly walks are a unique opportunity to meet our walking boys up close, explore our 28 acres of land on a lovely long walk with your alpaca and practice being present to our environment for inner peace.

The intention of these walks is to combine the wellbeing benefits of spending time with animals and being in nature with the beneficial effects of a mindful walk.

Our boys love getting out of their paddock to meet new people, explore the land and find all the best forage and it's good for us too. The benefits of spending time in nature are well known and combining that with a walk and getting to know and spend time with your own alpaca is a real boost for our wellbeing.

Our wellbeing walks are run by our Herd Manager and qualified meditation teacher Carly who has 10 years experience offering mindful experiences in nature.

What To Expect

On arrival we'll introduce you to our herd (each with their own unique personality!) and share some information about alpacas, how we take care of them and how they can support our wellbeing. We'll also share some health and safety guidance and tips on handling and leading respectfully.

We will then match you to the most suitable alpaca for you and after a brief introduction to your alpaca in terms of name, personality and particular quirks, we'll be off!

We will then go for a meander around the farm through our newly planted woodland admiring the views of open countryside. There'll be an invitation to make it a mindful technology free walk, really taking notice of your alpaca and our surroundings (of course we can still grab a few photos for your memories if you'd like to!).

We'll finish the walk back at The Hideout for a cuppa round the fire and a chance to unwind.

We often have cria (babies) on the farm and you'll likely get to see them during your visit.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Yvonne

A fabulous afternoon Alpaca Trekking at Hideaway Wood Farm on Saturday. Amy & Carly’s friendly informative guidance on individual alpacas characters ensured a relaxed, fun, safe & joyous time was spent in the company of these amazing animals. Feeding them afterwards revealed their characters, so amusing, the ‘icing on the cake’ to a perfect, uplifting, fun afternoon. Looking forward to my next visit & adopting one. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely time at the farm this morning walking and feeding the alpacas! We learned so much and really enjoyed the experience which was relaxed and in lovely surroundings. To be able to see the cria at just a few days old doing zoomies around the field was priceless.
