Farmer for the morning Experience
A unique opportunity to join us on the morning animal rounds and learn what it's like to care for alpacas.
Perhaps you're an aspiring alpaca farmer, or simply wanting a unique morning out.
Spending time outside in nature, in the presence of animals has many proven health benefits and it's also lovely to meet these beautiful, curious creatures up close.

What To Expect
On arrival we'll give you a Health & Safety Briefing and a tour of the farm facilities. We'll then venture off to do our daily animal rounds together (including feeding the herd, topping up their hay and water and our daily animal health checks). We'll introduce you to our herd as we go (each animal with its own unique personality!) and share some information about alpacas and how we take care of them.
We will then do some poo picking (part of our daily routine and observe the herd as we do). Depending on the tasks at hand that day, we may also need to administer medication, clean water troughs, or similar. The purpose of the session is for you to get a real life insight into what alpaca keeping involves.
After the session we'll return to The Hideout where you can wash your hands and help yourself to a nice complimentary hot drink.
You are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy at one of our picnic benches by our rustic outdoor shelter, The Hideout, with views across the wetlands, woodlands and surrounding countryside.
We often have cria (babies) on the farm and you'll likely get to see them during your visit.
