A little about the farm

We thought we should share a little more about the farm, for anyone new here.
We’re located in Northamptonshire, not far from Daventry, on 28 acres of beautiful land.
We’re so lucky to have such diverse landscapes and habitats here - there’s a 4 acre ancient woodland, a meandering stream, wetlands and natural springs a plenty. We’ve planted over 8,000 trees and hedge plants over the last few years and reforested part of the land that was previously a refuse dump.
The land is home to so much wildlife and biodiversity. Badgers, nationally rare bats, deer, butterflies, otters, birds, grass snakes, so much.
We’re a mother centric business, working around young children. We can’t always reply to messages immediately, answer calls immediately etc, we schedule time to do this and sometimes life gets in the way. Thank you for supporting us in our mission for work life balance, in an industry that is notorious for burnout. If we don’t reply within a few days, we’d love you to send a follow up 💚
Our primary purpose is sustainable (and where possible) natural and gentle alpaca farming - we breed alpacas - for walks, for their fleece, for therapy purposes and because they’re awesome!
However, making a living from farming is no easy task, so we’ve had to diversify. We also have a passion for getting people outside, connecting them with nature and animals, for building community - this is why we open up the farm for glamping and camping during summer and run pop up events from time to time. This year we’re running a family friendly retreat (mini festival) so people can come and enjoy the space for an entire weekend - it’s the last weekend in June - you can read more on the events tab of our website.
We run some other events too, generally with a wellbeing focus - wellbeing alpaca walks, alpaca mindfulness, alpaca yoga, men’s and women’s wellbeing groups and the occasional other pop up event like farm tours, family farm days, seasonal alpaca events, foraging, outdoor silent discos and singing circles. Eventually we plan on running crafting workshops using our 🦙 fleece. Knitting in the paddock with the alpacas anyone?
You can also buy products from us - alpaca manure for the garden, gift vouchers for our experiences, alpaca adoptions, our 🦙 fleece.
After years of working in an office job, I’m also very passionate about getting teams outside in nature together, so we run some corporate / team building events on the farm too from time to time, along with occasional private hire of the spaces for other events. If you’d like to discuss options for a team get together, please get in touch!
Finally, over the coming months we’re going to be establishing a care farm under our not for profit arm, whereby we will provide opportunities for those members of the community most in need to come and spend time at a very low / no cost. For people who otherwise couldn’t afford to be here. We know the space helps. We’re looking for funding and sponsors to help us make this a reality, if you are a local business and would like to sponsor or support us, do get in touch.
I like to keep social media real - comparison is the thief of joy, so let’s keep life real people and not feed the squares anymore fake social content! It might look shiny on the outside living off the land and frolicking with alpacas, but running a farm is hard work AND expensive. Our overheads are ridiculous. By coming to our events, staying with us, buying our products, telling your friends, sharing our posts, writing a review, volunteering with us, you really are helping us inch closer to becoming a ‘sustainable’ local business that can support the community. So grateful!
Thank you for supporting us 🙏 🦙
