Fleece
Alpaca fleece (fibre) is considered a luxury product, comparable to cashmere and fine merino wool. It is hypo-allergic and incredibly warm and soft.

The fleece varies in its quality from animal to animal in terms of its fineness and density and the fleece itself has differing quality aspects depending on where it was shorn from.

The 'blanket', which comes from the alpaca's back is considered the highest grade part of the fleece and can be used for spinning and made into a high quality yarn. The 'seconds', which come from the neck, belly and legs can be used for needle felting, stuffing duvets, pillows and teddies, bird nesting material and more.

At Hideaway Wood Farm we specialise in breeding high quality alpacas with a focus on grey and multi (patchy) colours. Many people who work with their fleece value the multi colours as it means more variety without the need for dyeing.

We have a wide range of colours available. Please feel free to get in contact to discuss your requirements.
Alpaca manure
Alpaca manure is a fantastic natural soil additive and odour free (we know, because we pick this gold up daily!).

Unlike horse manure, alpaca manure can be put straight from your bag onto your garden without the need to rot down first. This slow release fertiliser will give your plants a direct nutrient boost in nitrogen, potassium and phosphorous.
Plus you'll be supporting a small, environmentally conscious business and helping to keep these lovely creatures fed.

Instructions
-
Dig directly into your garden, water in, or make up a liquid feed (1 cup of pellets to 2 cups of water mixed in a watering can and left for 1 to 3 days).
-
Comes as small pellets (like coffee beans) so its easy to spread or put a few beans into the soil of indoor plants.
-
Store your manure in a cool, dark place.
-
You may find traces of organic matter in your bag such as grass, weeds, leaves or small bits of hay.
-
After worming, we wait 7 days before selling any manure.

Return & refund policy
-
Our alpaca manure is non-returnable and non-refundable (for obvious reasons).

Collection policy
-
Every order is bagged up fresh so it make take us a few days to get ready.
-
You will be notified once your order is ready for collection at the farm gate.
